   Harmful Dietary Supplements Part 2

In part 2 we are going to discuss additional, harmful
ingredients found in your supplements. We are going to pick up right
where we left off. If you want to get up to date read, Harmful Dietary Supplements
Part 1
first. Read and be alert. These supplements are
probably in your cabinet and may be slowly sucking precious life from you.

Vitamin E

Synthetic vitamin E supplements are promoted as dl-alpha-tocopherol. The
problem is that what the brands call natural vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol), is
common in a wide variety of other supplements. The thing is though, that despite
this being a natural form of vitamin E, it’s isolated and does not contain the
other naturally occurring vitamin E complex. Alpha-tocopherol naturally exists
with a whopping seven other vitamin E compounds. In nature, a full dose of vitamin E rich foods would have up to 30-40 IU of alpha-tocopherol, but in these vitamin E supplements, the dose is an unreal eight times that amount.

Minerals

Minerals are great because they are natural, but the dosages can be way off, so you have to be careful when taking them; copper, iron, and zinc can all be very dangerous in high doses. I became extremely ill when I OD on Zinc.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A, is sadly, another rigged supplement. In its natural form, Vitamin A is a large group of natural compounds. Real natural vitamin A only comes from animal sources,
like fish oils. The horrid synthetic versions of vitamin A are usually available in dry form. Here is where things can really go south. The synthetic version of vitamin A is significantly more toxic, than its natural counterpart, naturally occurring, vitamin A. Let’s look at Beta Carotene. Beta carotene is not a vitamin but a phytonutrient, which sometimes converts to vitamin A compounds in your body. This conversion though is not very efficient. Most likely, and if your vitamin A supplement is any good it, will have (beta carotene). If your vitamin E supplements list vitamin A without beta carotene, it will most likely be synthetic.

The problem today is that unscrupulous people are going to sell you anything to
make money. This is the sad state of affairs that exists in the food and drug
industry. Now you know. You can’t unsee what you now know. So, I urge you to
purge vitamins containing synthetic versions of vitamin A from your cabinet and
live a healthier, fuller life. As always, have a blessed day
